Google Scholarship 2016: Google invites applications for Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Through scholarship, Google intends to support women to excel in computing and technology, and become active role models and leaders in this field. To apply for this scholarship candidates have to submit solutions to three essay questions in the language they are more comfortable in on or before the last date.
Google offer this Scholarship in the honor of Late Dr. Anita Borg who believed that technology affects all aspects of our economic, political, social and personal lives. In addition of this, all scholarship recipients and finalists invite to attend a retreat at Google.
Who Can Apply?
- To be eligible to apply, applicants must:
- Be a female student currently enrolled at a university for currently academic year.
- Intend to be enrolled in or accepted as a full-time student in a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD program at a university in Europe, the Middle East or Africa for currently academic year
- Be studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics or a closely related technical field.
- Maintain a strong academic record
Amount of Scholarship:
Google Anita Borg Scholarship recipients receive a € 7,000 (or equivalent) award for a currently academic year.
Who can receive?
A group of female undergraduate and graduate students will be chosen from the applicant pool, and Scholarships will be awarded based on the strength of each candidate's academic background, passion for increasing the involvement of women in computer science, and demonstrated leadership.
How To Apply for Google Scholarship ?
- Candidates can take the benefit of this scheme by completing online application which includes:
- General background information: Candidates are required to fill contact information and information about their current and intended for currently academic school years.
- Submit Resume: Candidates have to upload their resume in the language they feel most comfortable with.
- Academic Records: Candidates have to upload Academic transcripts of their current university and past institution if currently in graduate school.
- Essay: Candidates have to write Responses to three essay questions in the language they are most comfortable in.
- You will also be asked to upload electronic versions of your resume, essay responses and transcripts.
- Please scan your transcripts and resume into an electronic format (PDF format preferred for all requested documents) and upload them.
